The New 2019 Cervelo S5 Series

The 2019 Cervelo S5 series is the new, aero-purposed, road bike on the race scene. Its built faster, basically for the road sprinters of this world. Cervelo have improved the S5 series to meet the needs of high intensity races. And these improvements don’t just look good on paper, but on the tarmac too!

Elevated Ride Quality

The ride quality that the 2019 S5 provides has been dramatically enhanced, from the previous generation of the S5. It has a longer wheel base for greater stability and less toe overlap. Then the S5 series exhibits the same handling characteristics across all its frame sizes, and throws in a lower BB frame design. This lowers the rider’s centre of gravity, and increases stability further.

More Frame Stiffness:

  • 25% stiffer Bottom-Bracket
  • 13% stiffer Head-tube
  • No increase in frame weight, despite a thicker carbon layout.

Functionality:

Cervelo took massive leaps to make sure the S5 is unmatchable in rider usability. It has internal cable routing for both mechanical and electric shifting systems. The stem can be extended up to 30mm if need be. Handle-bar elevation is adjustable by 2.5mm, and you can set the pitch of the bars, up to 5-degrees.

Aerodynamics:

Aero features are the main thing a road sprinter worries about when choosing a bike; however, Cervelo have that covered. The elegantly constructed, carbon frame shaves-off 46grams of drag. It’s been refined to create a better air flow around the downtube.

Available bike builds:
