New Gear: Cervelo’s 2018 R-Series

Cervelo recently announced the arrival of their classic, R-Series, road bike models. The R-Series stays true to the road bike nature, with its pure, sporty, vibe. It’s a bike series that has “stamina” written all over it!

Exceptional made better…

Comfort: The R-Series’ frame is designed with a wider tyre clearance, allowing you to run wider tyres, therefore providing a smoother ride. Then what’s new on the seat-post is the D-Shape aerodynamic design, that promotes compliance, to improve overall comfort.

Geometry: Cervelo created the R-Series with their Rider-First geometry. Basically you have a Pro Fit on the R5 models, which has a lower head tube, compared to the R3 Series, that focuses more on the Race Fit aspects.

Handling + Stability: The R-Series has an extended wheelbase (993mm), to give you more confidence on the bike. Then there’s the stiffer and lower BB, for improved pedal efficiency. The disc brake model option is the added Cervelo care to suit all rider needs.

Stiffness + Weight: The newly sculpted frame tubes improve aerodynamics compared to the previous series, with a whopping 14g improvement.

Bar + Stem: Cervelo then took pride in engineering their own bar and stem. All-in-all pushing aerodynamics to the max. With the added feature of allowing for internal cable routing.
