Late October and early November is an unpredictable time, weather wise, in the Elgin Valley. One day may feature forty-degree temperatures while the next could see torrential rains pouring down. For that reason, the bike wash at the FNB Wines2Whales has always been an important service to riders.
In 2019, Squirt Cycling Products, whose biodegradable Bio Bike Cleaner will be used to clean the bikes, will be joined by Kränzle, to help ensure every bicycle is washed spotlessly clean – no matter the conditions of the day.
Kränzle South Africa is the local supplier of the German produced high-pressure cleaners, industrial vacuum cleaners and accessories. As an official partner of the event, they will supply high-pressure washers, which when used together with the Squirt Bio Bike Cleaner, effectively remove dust, mud and grit from every riders’ bike. Once the bikes are washed their chains will be lubricated with Squirt’s award-winning chain lube.
Rod Dolpire, Managing Director of Kränzle South Africa said, “We are very excited to be part of the FNB Wines2Whales family and are also proud that at previous events where we have done the same, the bike wash has run smoothly with no breakdowns. I wish all riders a safe and successful event and hope you all achieve your race objectives. Furthermore, every rider can look forward to receiving a very generous discount voucher in their race pack.”
Neil Muller, Sales Manager of Kränzle South Africa, furthered the statement, “We are sure that, in collaboration with Squirt Cycling Products, we will provide the best bike wash service riders have ever experienced at a stage race in South Africa. Three Kränzle teams will also be taking part in the Pinotage event, so please feel free to chat to us out on the trails or in the race village too.”
“It is always fantastic when a new sponsor, who provides tangible value to the FNB Wines2Whales riders, joins the sponsorship family” Hendrico Burger, Race Director of FNB Wines2Whales, stated. “The Bike Wash is one of the key services, which influences the quality of each rider’s experience at the event. Thanks to Kränzle we’ll be able to take it to new heights in 2019 and beyond.”
At each of the three FNB Wines2Whales events, which start with the Chardonnay race on Friday the 25th of October, there will be a 26-man bike wash team on-site at the Oak Valley race village. Riders are encouraged to make use of this complimentary service by simply wheeling their bikes to the Squirt Kränzle Bike Wash at the end of Stages 1 and 2. The clean bikes will then be moved into the Stor-Age Bike Hotel for secure overnight storage.
