New Gear: Trek’s new Emonda

Trek’s new Emonda is one red-hot, lightweight racer! It’s at the pinnacle of road racing and holds its ground against some of the best road bikes in the world! Trek designed the frame to be lightweight and chose to equip every component that has the best performance to weight ratio.

New and Improved:

The Emonda is now one of Trek’s lightest road bikes ever! With the SLR frame weight at 640 grams while 665 grams for the disc version. Trek’s SL version of the Emonda, however, pushes the weight up to 1091 grams on the frame. Not bad, but I’d still go for the lighter weight version.

The light weight innovation comes from Trek’s high-grade, OCLV Carbon Fibre. Sure its flexible, but it’s now stiffer than anything. Designed to let no watts go to waste over the course of your ride. Overall, Trek broke ground with the new Emonda frame, as it is now their lightest production bike ever!

Geometry:

Trek has fine-tuned the Emonda’s geometry, to optimise performance. The Emonda can operate highly under pressure, perfect for any racer. The geometry also gives off a speed encouraging impression. This is because Trek have customized each frame size’ geometry. For instance, the head-tube angle and seat-tube angle are designed intentionally for the rider’s height and size.

Disc Brake Option.

Any new road bike would not be complete if it did not offer a disc brake option. Fortunately, the Emonda comes fully kitted out with calliper brakes and disc brakes. So, you’re bound to find a model that suits your amount of stopping power needs.
