New Gear: Cannondale’s 2018 Synapse

The 2018 Synapse puts Cannondale’s road bike, endurance racing, expertise on display, with brilliant new aerodynamic features and geometry that promotes comfort. The Synapse encourages you to race beyond the finish line, and supplies whatever it takes for you to pursue long-days in the saddle. It’s an innovative, new endurance bike from Cannondale, and we love it!

New Technology:

The frame, straight out of the box, weighs in at 950-grams. That’s extremely low, considering the fact that it comes locked and load frame-size optimized. Each frame size is specifically design with its own unique head-tube length, custom fork-steerer, with different fork offsets depending solely on the frame size.

The Synapse also features a down-tube cable port, for simple access to any electronic shifting device. Now, what Cannondale have managed to crack is the race-level frame stiffness, despite the carbon compliance, and endurance specific geometry. In other words, the 2018 Synapse brings forth a bridge between Light-weight race ready road bikes, and solid energy saving endurance bikes.

To touch on some of those endurance road bike aspects; the SAVE System Handling bar, was created to be super aerodynamic, while inspiring compliance in that area. Then there’s the optional and easily removable, fender mounts for no back spray on rainy days.

Endurance Mixing

  • SAVE Micro-Suspension cancels out vibrations in certain areas of the carbon frame, for reasonably smooth sailing.
  • SAVE Seat-Post enhances comfort, while investing in the overall light-weight of the frame, with its 25.4mm diameter.
  • The Synapse makes room for 32mm large road bike tyres, which functions and integrates well with this ultimate endurances machine.
  • Smartly designed flat-mount brakes, deliver easy cleaning abilities to the disc brake system, while flexing less under pressure for better braking.
