New Gear: BMC’s 2018 Speedfox

BMC’s 2018 Speedfox gets you in-sync with the trail. The new Speedfox look and design says everything tough. A solid vibe, looks like its guaranteed with this bike.

Designed with the trail in-mind and rider’s needs spearheading the geometry, BMC’s Speedfox promises to be advanced with technology. Let’s take a look.

New Breed

Starting at the suspension; BMC went with 120/130mm of travel on the fork and rear shock. A good pick, if you ask us, as the Speedfox now bridges that gap between XC and trail racing disciplines. Targeting those riders that want the nimble feeling from an XC bike, with the fun advantages of a trail bike.

What’s New:

  1. IP Cable Routing
Prevents rattling, facilitates routing through internal carbon guide tubes.2. Multi-Port
Lets you ride the bike with or without a front derailleur and provides access to the interior of the frame.

    3. Mud Flap/ Hidden Link
Hides all cables between the rear triangle and the main frame; keeps bearings clean.

    4. Integrated Protection
Molded downtube and chainstay guards keep your frame safe from impacts, in a refined design package.

    5. APS Advanced Pivot System
An efficient and durable suspension system with a trail tune. Supports you on the uphill while being fully active on the downhill.

    6. Trailsync
Combines two actions in one. Drop the seat post and open the rear suspension with the push of one button…and vice versa.

    7. Low Standover Height
    Confidence, regardless of rider height.

BMC came out with their Trailsync Technology on the Speedfox. Basically what Trailsync does is adjust your dropper post and rear shock simultaneously. So by flicking a lever on the handlebars, you can have your rear-shock set to the correct damping setting, and your dropper post lowered or higher, depending on whether you’re going downhill or uphill. With Trailsync your bike is always ready for the terrain.

The Speedfox also includes, neatly-designed, and integrated frame protection. Which mainly covers the lower link with a mud-flap, and chain stay and down tube with rock shields.
