Falke ups the sock game of the Absa Cape Epic

Falke is proud to partner with Absa Cape Epic, from 2020-2022, as the official technical sock partner and to extend their mountain biking footprint in South Africa. Falke will be present during the gruelling 8-day race to amplify the comfort of riders which in turn has a positive influence on the riders’ performance.

“We are honoured to be part of this world class South African event that attracts cyclists from across the world. With innovation at its forefront, Falke will offer and educate riders in terms of advanced technology and wearer comfort as well as the importance of a well-fitted sock.

“We welcome the opportunity to partner with Absa Cape Epic for the next three years and we are confident that this partnership will deliver on-point brand exposure, this allows us to engage directly with our target audience while showcasing and increasing awareness of our unique offering of ultimate functionality and wearer advantage, and building relationships from the ground up. Our socks are designed to achieve a second-skin fit which helps prevent friction, which causes blisters and discomfort. Flawless fit is achieved by offering more sizes than most competitors, using only the best quality performance yarns, strategic placement of soft elastics and ergonomic design,” says Group Marketing Executive Keaton Quarmby.

“Falke socks are engineered with an in-depth understanding of the requirements of each sporting discipline. Close collaboration with sport scientists and our athletes guarantees that all our performance socks are engineered with the specific demands of various sporting activities and the South African climate in mind. Moisture Management and ventilation are key focus areas” Quarmby continued.

“Falke is a household name for all South African mountain bikers and I am hard-pressed to think of a time when I haven’t had a trusty pair of Falke socks in my MTB gear drawer,” said Michael Flinn, Managing Director of the Absa Cape Epic. “The Absa Cape Epic is a gruelling race that pushes every rider to their absolute limits. It is incredibly important for all riders to look after the main contact points with the bike – namely, hands and bum; but it’s essential to not forget about feet, as riding with blisters is enough to dampen the spirits of even the toughest rider. Falke’s advanced technologies and flawless fit will definitely do wonders in keeping our riders’ feet happy” Flinn continued.
